Remedial

Remedial massage is used to treat the cause of incorrect pathologies within the body. It incorporates a number of different massage techniques which help to balance the muscles and joints while restoring their elasticity and helping improve posture.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and usually focuses on specific areas. It aims to release tension through deep slow strokes, and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, by either following or crossing over the muscle fibers, fascia and tendons. Usually used to address specific problems associated with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitations, sporting and occupational injuries, RSI, and physical and mental fatigue

Sports

The main purpose of sports massage is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activities. Sports massage helps prepare an athlete for peak performance. It also assists in muscle recovery, relieving swelling, reducing muscle tension and promoting flexibility. Other benefits include reduced heart rate and blood pressure and increased circulation and lymph flow.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is a complex supportive web throughout the body affecting all components of the musculoskeletal, nervous and organ systems. It surrounds groups of muscles fibers, entire muscle groups and organs. Both fascia and muscle tissues can be shortened if they are improperly used and layers of fascia can stick together. Myofascial release techniques are used to lengthen the tissue and breakdown the adhesions in the fascia.

Relaxation

Relaxation massage relieves the stress of everyday life by relaxing the body and mind. It is also used to treat some circulatory problems and helps the body assimilate food and get rid of waste products. It can alleviate back and neck pain and its soothing affects is beneficial for people with anxiety and depression.
